Hello, I am Chef Gokmen Kalkavan — also known as Chef G. As the son of a chef mother, I have been in the kitchen since I was 12 years old, learning the rhythm, discipline, and soul of real cooking from an early age.
At 18, I started my own food truck and quickly became a favorite in Istanbul’s nightlife scene. From film sets and private parties to special events and late-night crowds, we brought bold Turkish flavors wherever people gathered.
As demand grew beyond what one food truck could handle, I founded a catering company that eventually reached the capacity to serve 3,500 people a day — while still continuing to cook for film productions, celebrations, events, and the vibrant nightlife scene.
Now, I am proud to bring those same flavors, memories, and experiences to America through Troy Grille. Every dish carries a piece of that journey — from my mother’s kitchen to Istanbul’s streets, and now to your table.
